Okay, I put the forums up with some basic board structure. Keep things simple until the master minds behind this site get together and plot a little. Did a little rearrangement on the menus as well. Trying to preserve realty space for now as well as making things a little easier to find. I also did an adjustment on the theme/layout of the site, shortening the top a bit, removing the google advertising bar.
So far as the forums go a few basic general boards have been set up and more will be added as needed or asked for. General forum rules, don't be a jerk, don't cause drama, don't post things others might find offensive (other furries anyways...). The forums are set up so anyone can view them, but only members, registered members, can post to them, use the polls, upload images to them, etc. On that subject:
Registration! Right now user accounts are via 'admin authorization' only. We have already had several attempts from Russia and China to get accounts here. Nothing like the smell of spam in the morning. If you wish to post, just register. The site admins will try to check frequently to look for new furries. Don't be offended if you are asked 'okay, who are you?'. One of the admins is not good with remembering people. *cough*Aio*cough* You should be able to log in, put up a lil avatar icon and everything!
Now, onto the image boards subject. I have Coppermine installed, it is a very friendly and robust series of image boards. Provided certain things for PHP are set correctly! It will be time to call Godaddy again to ask them to set something in the php.ini for our site. If they won't, we can always get around that, I'd just rather have it as a global set up and not a local. And, as a reminder for the person who will have to call and ask, this is what we need to remember.
Set the following to ON for PHP5 in the ini file:
register_long_arrays
More updates to come, I have been getting my ass kicked at work, but things are finally calming down so happy happy joy joy. Stay tuned!
